A Bit About Me

Words are my balm and my sword.  Used with clear intent and grounded in justice and love for community, words have being a friend holding my hand and telling me not to hold back.  Over the years I went from writing and speaking to my school board members about inequality impacting racialized students to speaking to thousands of my neighbors wanting justice for ALL.

My experience ranges from hosting forums with elected officials and political candidates, public meetings, community meetings, to facilitating conversations on equity and race, hosting company gatherings and retreats.  My sense of humor, wittiness and Caribbean flare add laughter and optimism to my work.

Starting my independent consulting journey!

My responsibilities as coordinator of the Alianza Poder Network consisted in advancing the mission of ten diverse organizations, bringing organization leaders, staff and community align to take action and advance equity and dignity for working families.

My responsibilities as statewide organizer with IMIrJ included building a brand new base of immigrant organizers, build relationships with and supported admirable immigrant leaders, support IMIrJ in continuing the growth of the organizing methodology that now includes racial affinity spaces, mental and emotional health elements and a richer understanding of the immigrant community statewide. Additionally I copyright for communications and design social media campaigns.

As a volunteer Coordinator with Latino Community Association I demonstrated my project management skills in a variety of ways. I transfer the volunteer database to Salesforce for nonprofits and created all the website interface for our volunteers. I hosted fundraising and cultural events, and brought media coverage and donors to the organization. I created digital marketing campaigns, helped hosted drive-thru COVID-19 community events as well as hosting the Mexican Consulate in Central Oregon.

Starting as an intern then ascending to serving in as the Eligibility Coordinator with volunteers in Medicine- Clinic of the Cascades gave me the pleasure of supporting over one thousand low income adults per year with a team of 7 - 9 volunteers. Patients trusted their financial records with our department and my responsibilities included ensuring all patients were within the income guidelines, keeping ethical records, data entry and volunteer training.
